Heading to school on a motor-tractor
Fleur de Bitume
Location: Ban Deua Tia, Laos
The organisation assists disadvantaged schools around the world through programmes combining mobility, education and the environment. Particular emphasis is placed on dialogue between pupils in different countries, with the creation of partnerships between schools.
The project presented here provides an alternative and innovative mobility solution enabling children in Ban Deua Tia to continue their secondary-school studies (the school being located 8 km from the village). The “Sonkheo”, a vehicle composed of a motor-tractor and a trailer, will serve to transport children to school. The rest of the time it could be rented out to villagers for a symbolic sum via a socially-responsible garage.
