A dugout canoe for Agboville
SACI : Solidarité Agboville Côte d'Ivoire
SACI works with Young Christian Workers in Agboville in Côte d’Ivoire. It relays its actions in the Franche-Comté region and works to forge a spirit of solidarity with Africa so as to initiate educational and humanitarian projects. For example, it has helped to set up two school cafeterias.
Some families in the region live in the forest, several kilometres from the town. The purchase of a new dugout canoe will make the journey to and from school less tiring for young children. The canoe will also be used to transport the charcoal produced in the village to town. The revenue from this activity finances the children’s schooling. The donation will also be used to buy tricycles to favour the success of subsistence crop projects that are essential in the long term for the school cafeteria meals without financial aid from SACI.
