Singing to prevent isolation
Les concerts de poche
The association was set up by Gisèle Magnan, a renowned concert pianist, to share music with everybody, beyond urban centres. She came up with an idea for a “cultural tool to develop social ties”. This mobile, roving project involves organising “pocket concerts” and workshops in the places where people live.
The project submitted will continue and extend the partnership for a total of 500 workshops and 15 concerts. The project for 2017 will involve 7,500 participants (children, adolescents, adults and seniors) in rural and isolated areas. This initiative is based on the organisation of regular musical workshops over several months followed by an on-site concert. PSA employees will be invited to attend the concerts in their areas. If they so wish, they can also take part in preparing and implementing various actions (displaying communication media, welcoming members of the public, etc.).
