Foundation Apprentis d’Auteuil
For 150 years, the Apprentis d’Auteuil apprenticeship foundation has been running education, training and job-finding programmes in a total of 220 establishments. Help is provided for 30,000 youngsters in vulnerable situations every year. The Lycée Poullart des Places highschool is one of the centres run by Apprentis d’Auteuil. It takes in boys and girls aged 15 to 20, often experiencing difficulty at school, for qualifying training in sought-after subjects: cooking, restaurant service, auto maintenance and hairdressing.
The auto maintenance course started in 1981 to address training needs of young people in the region. In January 2016, the course’s technical training platform opened a socially responsible teaching garage in partnership with Wimoov, with the aim of helping people in difficulty find lasting, self-reliant transport solutions. Owing to lack of funding, the platform is becoming outdated, which holds back the centre’s skills development capability. The centre needs new equipment if it is to offer relevant training for the youngsters and quality service to customers. Modernization will enable the centre to offer a higher-qualified course from September 2017. Foundation support will contribute to financing new equipment.share this project
