This non-profit organization helps with social inclusion of persons out of employment. It provides support, technical supervision and training for beneficiaries with a view to a lasting return to work. Work situation programmes are offered, adapted to individual profiles. Specific activities managed are school support, gardening, motor mechanics, textile production, and urban cleaning.
Valence Services is part of a working group that has been running for more than three years, under a training and employment programme coordinated by the French state and the regional government. It covers twenty or so organizations working on social inclusion and access to transport.
The organization’s socially responsible garage, Mécaservices, opened in 1994 to offer beneficiaries of minimum income allowance affordable repair and maintenance services. It social contributions are three-fold:
- Access to employment or training
- Self-reliance, with extended employability scope
- Training in motor mechanics, with initial professional experience, for young people and adults experience long periods of unemployment
