Disability and autonomy
APEI-VO Association des Parents d'Enfants Inadaptés de la Vallée de l'Orne
The IMPRO professional medical institute, an establishment of the APEI-VO organisation for the parents of children with behavioural problems, works with 14- to 20-year-olds with disabilities, helping them to integrate society or find employment in the sheltered or regular sector.
The projects consist in enabling young people to obtain a moped or quadricycle driving licence to bring them autonomy and facilitate their professional integration. The project is part of the road safety certificate delivered by the IME medical educational institute. With the licence, the young people in question can drive to the premises of their internship or job. From 16 to 20 years of age, the young people in the IMPRO programme can complete internships at companies. PSA Foundation funding will be used to replace two scooters and purchase safety equipment (helmets and gloves).
