Scooters for young people in the shanty towns of Jakarta
Life Project 4 Youth
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
The organisation works towards the social and occupational integration of 17-24 year-olds in situations of extreme precariousness and exclusion in its eight operating countries. To that end, it develops “Life Project Centers” in the heart or vicinity of shanty towns.
The project aims to back the opening of a new centre in Jakarta, Indonesia to provide support to 30 young people from the shanty towns in Cilincing in northern Jakarta. To help to disenclave the area, the organisation is seeking to equip the Life Project Center with scooters and minivans in order to facilitate travel for the young people as part of their training.
