“AUTOMOTIVTOI”, a simulator to make driving easier to learn
Mission Locale de la Vallée de l’Oise – (MLVO)
The Vallée de l’Oise Mission Locale organisation works in an area located a 30-minute car ride from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport and 45 minutes from Paris – an area in which a means of transport is practically indispensable for finding a job or training course.
The “AUTOMOTIVTOI” initiative will initially concern inhabitants of ZUS (sensitive urban areas) and CUCS (urban social cohesion contracts) in the municipalities of the Agglomeration Community of Creil and be offered to the inhabitants of the closest towns.
The project will be carried out in three phases:
- Mobility workshops encouraging a “desire for mobility” through discussions on the job market, a presentation of available financial aid, and Highway Code and driving simulation workshops.
- Mobility workshops preparing participants for their Highway Code and driving test. A simulator is used to estimate the number of hours of driving required, after which the young people benefit from a progressive training programme helping them to develop the right instincts at the wheel.
- On the proposal of a trainer, a more precise assessment of the Highway Code and driving will be provided by a local socially-responsible driving school.
Depending on their results, the Mission Locale will offer the young people financial aid or a return to the Highway Code and driving workshops.
The partnership with the Creil socially-responsible driving school will be strengthened to negotiate adapted and more inexpensive flat-rate prices for the individuals attending the workshops.
